The Cambodian Ministry of Interior has reacted to an allegation by the Thai Minister of Digital Economy and Society that Cambodia harbours the world’s largest cybercrime syndicates backed by the ruling elite.
Touch Sokhack, spokesman at the Ministry of Interior, said on Friday that Cambodia is not a centre for online criminals or cybercrimes as alleged by the Thai Minister.
The Bangkok Post printed an article today with the Thai Minister Prasert Jantararuangtong saying, “Cambodia a Cybercrime Centre Now.”
He added that Cambodia is not a haven for online crimes, like Jantararuangtong claims.
He said that Cambodia is working with all the countries globally to prevent and crack down on all types of transnational crimes, especially human trafficking, money laundering, and many other international crimes.
